1. And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
Gen 12.10And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land. ;
Gen 20.2And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. ;
SMS 2. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
Gen 12.1Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: ;
SMS 3. Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
Gen 20.1And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. ;
Ps 39.12Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. ;
Evr 11.9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: ;
Gen 28.15And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. ;
Gen 12.2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: ;
Gen 13.15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. ;
Gen 15.18In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: ;
Gen 22.16And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: ;
Ps 105.9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; ;
SMS 4. And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Gen 15.5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. ;
Gen 22.17That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; ;
Gen 12.3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. ;
Gen 22.18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. ;
SMS 5. Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Gen 22.16-18And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: ;
SMS 6. And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
SMS 7. And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.
Gen 12.13Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. ;
Gen 20.2-13And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. ;
Prov 29.25The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. ;
Gen 24.16And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. ;
SMS 8. And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.
SMS 9. And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife; and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.
SMS 10. And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.
Gen 20.9Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done. ;
