1. And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
2. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 3.23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. ;
Gen 9.20And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: ;
3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Num 18.12All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee. ;
4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Num 18.17But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor unto the LORD. ;
Prov 3.9Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: ;
Evr 11.4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. ;
5. But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Gen 31.2And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. ;
6. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7. If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Iac 1.15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. ;
8. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Mat 23.35That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. ;
1Ioan 3.12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. ;
9. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
Ps 9.12When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. ;
Ioan 8.44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. ;
10. And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Evr 12.24And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel. ;
Apoc 6.10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? ;
