1. And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
1Imp 7.8
And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch. ;1Imp 9.24
But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo. ;2Sam 5.7
Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. ;1Imp 7.1
But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house. ;1Imp 6.1
And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD. ;1Imp 9.15
And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer. ;SMS
2. Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
Lev 17.3-5
What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp, ;Deut 12.2-5
Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: ;1Imp 22.43
And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places. ;SMS
3. And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
Deut 6.5
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. ;Deut 30.16-20
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. ;Ps 31.23
O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. ;Rom 8.28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ;1Cor 8.3
But if any man love God, the same is known of him. ;1Imp 3.6
And Solomon said, Thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. ;SMS
4. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
2Cron 1.3
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. ;1Cron 16.39
And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon, ;2Cron 1.3
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. ;SMS
5. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
1Imp 9.2
That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. ;2Cron 1.7
In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. ;Num 12.6
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. ;Mat 1.20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. ;Mat 2.13-19
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. ;SMS
6. And Solomon said, Thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
2Cron 1.8-etc
And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast showed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. ;1Imp 2.4
That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel. ;1Imp 9.4
And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: ;2Imp 20.3
I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. ;Ps 15.2
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. ;1Imp 1.48
And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it. ;SMS
7. And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
1Cron 29.1
Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God. ;Num 27.17
Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. ;SMS
8. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
Deut 7.6
For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. ;Gen 13.16
And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. ;Gen 15.5
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. ;SMS
9. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
2Cron 1.10
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? ;Prov 2.3-9
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; ;Iac 1.5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. ;Ps 72.1-2
Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. ;Evr 5.14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. ;SMS
10. And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.
