1. And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
1Imp 15.24
And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead. ;SMS

2. And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
2Cron 15.8
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD. ;SMS

3. And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;

4. But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. ;SMS

5. Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honor in abundance.
1Sam 10.27

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. ;1Imp 10.27
And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the vale, for abundance. ;2Cron 18.1
Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab. ;SMS

6. And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
1Imp 22.43
And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places. ;2Cron 15.17
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. ;2Cron 19.3
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. ;2Cron 20.33
Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers. ;SMS

7. Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.
2Cron 15.3
Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. ;SMS

8. And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.

9. And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
2Cron 35.3
And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel, ;Neem 8.7
Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place. ;SMS

10. And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
Gen 35.5
And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob. ;SMS
