1. But Job answered and said,
SMS 2. Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
SMS 3. For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up.
Prov 27.3A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. ;
SMS 4. For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
Ps 38.2For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. ;
Ps 88.15-16I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. ;
SMS 5. Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
SMS 6. Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
SMS 7. The things that my soul refused to touch are as my sorrowful meat.
SMS 8. Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
SMS 9. Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
1Imp 19.4But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ;
