1. Lord, remember David, and all his afflictions:

2. How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
Ps 65.1
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. ;Gen 49.24
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) ;

3. Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

4. I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Prov 6.4
Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids. ;

5. Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. ;

6. Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
1Sam 17.12

And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. ;1Cron 13.5
So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim. ;

7. We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
Ps 5.7
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. ;Ps 99.5
Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. ;

8. Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. ;2Cron 6.41-42
Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness. ;Ps 78.61
And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand. ;

9. Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
Iov 39.14
Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, ;Ps 132.16
I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. ;Isa 61.10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. ;

10. For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
