1. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

2. Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

3. Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
Ps 16.7
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. ;Iov 23.10
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. ;Ps 26.2
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. ;Ps 66.10
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. ;Ps 139.2
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. ;Zah 13.9
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. ;Mal 3.2-3
But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: ;1Pet 1.7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: ;

4. Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

5. Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. ;

6. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
Ps 116.2
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. ;

7. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
Ps 31.21
Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. ;

8. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Deut 32.10
He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. ;Zah 2.8
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. ;Rut 2.12
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. ;Ps 36.7
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. ;Ps 57.1
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. ;Ps 61.4
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. ;Ps 63.7
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. ;Ps 91.1-4
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ;Mat 23.37
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! ;

9. From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10. They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
Deut 32.15
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. ;Iov 15.27
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks. ;Ps 73.7
Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. ;Ps 119.70

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. ;Ps 31.18
Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. ;
