1. O lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
Ps 6.1O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. ;
2. For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
Iov 6.4For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. ;
Ps 32.4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. ;
3. There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
Ps 6.2Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. ;
4. For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Ezra 9.6And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. ;
Ps 40.12For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. ;
Mat 11.28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ;
5. My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6. I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
Ps 35.14I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother. ;
Iov 30.28I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation. ;
Ps 42.9I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ;
Ps 43.2For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ;
7. For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
Iov 7.5My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome. ;
Ps 38.3There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. ;
8. I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
Iov 3.24For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters. ;
Ps 22.1My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? ;
Isa 59.11We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. ;
9. Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
10. My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
Ps 6.7Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. ;
