1. And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Ex 16.1And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. ;
Num 33.12-14And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah. ;
2. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
Num 20.3-4And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! ;
Deut 6.16Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. ;

3. And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
Ex 16.2And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: ;
4. And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

Ex 7.20And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. ;
Num 20.8Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. ;
6. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Num 20.10-11And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? ;
Ps 78.15-20He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. ;
Ps 105.41He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. ;
Ps 114.8Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. ;
1Cor 10.4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. ;
7. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
Num 20.13This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them. ;
Ps 81.7Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. ;
Ps 95.8Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: ;

8. Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
Gen 36.12And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife. ;
Num 24.20And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever. ;
Deut 25.17Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; ;
1Sam 15.2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. ;
9. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

Evr 4.8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. ;
Ex 4.20And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand. ;
10. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
