11. For their redeemer is mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.

For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. ;

12. Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

13. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. ;Prov 19.18
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. ;Prov 22.15
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. ;Prov 29.15-17
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. ;

14. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

15. My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
Prov 23.24-25
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. ;Prov 29.3
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance. ;

16. Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.

17. Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

19. Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
