31. O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
Ier 2.5
Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? ;Ps 12.4
Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? ;Deut 32.15
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. ;

32. Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
Ps 106.21
They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; ;Ier 13.25
This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood. ;Osea 8.14
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof. ;

33. Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

34. Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Ps 106.38
And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. ;Ier 19.4
Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; ;

35. Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
Ier 2.23-29
How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways; ;Ier 2.9
Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead. ;Prov 28.13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. ;1Ioan 1.8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ;

36. Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? ;Ier 31.22
How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man. ;Osea 5.13
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound. ;Osea 12.1
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt. ;Isa 30.3
Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. ;Ier 37.7
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land. ;2Cron 28.16-21
At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him. ;

37. Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
2Sam 13.19
And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colors that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying. ;
