1. Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
2. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
Deut 32.1Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. ;
Ps 50.1-4The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. ;
Isa 1.2Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. ;
Osea 12.2The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. ;

3. O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

7. Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Ps 50.9I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. ;
Ps 51.16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. ;
Isa 1.11To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. ;
Iov 29.6When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; ;

Ezec 23.37That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them. ;
8. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Deut 10.12And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, ;
1Sam 15.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;
Osea 6.6For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. ;
Osea 12.6Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually. ;
Gen 18.19For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. ;

9. The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
10. Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
