2. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
Deut 32.1
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. ;Ps 50.1-4
The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. ;Isa 1.2
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. ;Osea 12.2
The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. ;Isa 1.18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ;Isa 5.3-4

And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. ;Num 24.10-11
And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times. ;Deut 23.4-5
Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee. ;Ios 24.9-10
Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you: ;Apoc 2.14
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. ;Num 25.1
And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. ;Num 33.49
And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab. ;Ios 4.19
And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho. ;Ios 5.10
And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. ;Jud 5.11
They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates. ;

6. Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
7. Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Ps 50.9
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. ;Ps 51.16
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. ;Isa 1.11
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. ;Iov 29.6
When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; ;2Imp 16.3
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel. ;2Imp 21.6
And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. ;2Imp 23.10
And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech. ;Ier 7.31
And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. ;Ier 19.5
They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind: ;Ezec 23.37
That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them. ;

8. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;Osea 6.6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. ;Osea 12.6
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually. ;Gen 18.19
