1. At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. ;Luc 22.24
And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. ;

2. And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

3. And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. ;Mat 19.14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. ;Marc 10.14

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: ;

4. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: ;Mat 23.11
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. ;

5. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Mat 10.42
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. ;Luc 9.48
And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. ;

6. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Marc 9.42

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! ;

7. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. ;Mat 26.24
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. ;

8. Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
Mat 5.29-30
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. ;Marc 9.43-45
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: ;

9. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

10. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;) ;Luc 1.19
And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. ;
