11. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. ;

12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Luc 6.23

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: ;Fapt 7.52

Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: ;

13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. ;Luc 14.34-35

14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Prov 4.18
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. ;Filip 2.15
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; ;

15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Marc 4.21
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? ;Luc 8.16
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. ;Luc 11.33
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. ;

16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
1Pet 2.12
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. ;Ioan 15.8
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. ;1Cor 14.25
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. ;

17. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Rom 3.31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. ;Rom 10.4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. ;Gal 3.24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. ;

18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Luc 16.17
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. ;

19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Iac 2.10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. ;

20. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Rom 9.31
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. ;Rom 10.3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. ;
