1. The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
Marc 14.33
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; ;Luc 1.35
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. ;Ioan 1.34
And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. ;

2. As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mal 3.1
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. ;Mat 11.10
For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. ;Luc 7.27
This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. ;

3. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Isa 40.3
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ;Mat 3.3
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. ;Luc 3.4
As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. ;Ioan 1.15-23
John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. ;

4. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, ;Luc 3.3
And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; ;Ioan 3.23
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. ;

5. And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

6. And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. ;

7. And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: ;Ioan 1.27
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. ;Fapt 13.25
And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose. ;

8. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. ;Fapt 11.16

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: ;Fapt 2.4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ;Fapt 10.45
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. ;Fapt 11.15-16
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. ;1Cor 12.13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. ;

9. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, ;

10. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: ;Ioan 1.32
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. ;
