1. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
Mat 11.6
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. ;Mat 24.10
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. ;Mat 26.31
Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. ;

2. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Ioan 9.22-34
These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. ;12.42Fapt 8.1
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. ;12.42Fapt 9.1

I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. ;

3. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. ;1Cor 2.8

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ;

4. But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

5. But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

6. But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. ;

7. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. ;Efes 4.8
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. ;

8. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9. Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10. Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
