1. For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
1Tes 1.5-9
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. ;SMS

2. But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. ;1Tes 1.5

3. For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: ;2Pet 1.16
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. ;SMS

4. But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
1Cor 7.25
Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. ;1Tim 1.11-12
According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. ;1Cor 9.17
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. ;Gal 2.7

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. ;Prov 17.3
The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts. ;Rom 8.27
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. ;SMS

5. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. ;2Cor 4.2
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ;2Cor 7.2

Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you? ;Rom 1.9
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; ;SMS

6. Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. ;2Cor 11.9
And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. ;2Cor 12.13-14
For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong. ;2Tes 3.8
Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: ;SMS

7. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
1Cor 9.1-5
Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? ;1Cor 2.3
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. ;1Cor 9.22
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. ;2Cor 13.4
For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. ;2Tim 2.24
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, ;SMS

8. So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
Rom 1.11
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; ;Rom 15.29
And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. ;2Cor 12.15
And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. ;SMS

9. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
Fapt 20.34
Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. ;1Cor 4.12
And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: ;2Cor 11.9
