12. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

13. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ;Tit 2.2
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. ;

14. Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
1Tim 1.4
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. ;1Tim 4.7
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. ;2Tim 4.4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. ;Isa 29.13
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ;Mat 15.9
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ;Col 2.22
Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? ;

15. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
2Tim 3.5
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. ;Rom 1.28
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; ;2Tim 3.8
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. ;
