11. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Evr 3.6
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. ;

15. While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Evr 3.7
Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, ;

16. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Num 14.2-30
And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! ;Deut 1.34-38
And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, ;

17. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; ;Num 26.65
For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. ;Ps 106.26
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: ;1Cor 10.5
But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. ;

18. And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. ;Deut 1.34-35

19. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Evr 4.6
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: ;
