1. When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Ex 2.16
Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. ;Ex 3.1
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. ;Ps 44.1
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. ;Ps 77.14-15
Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. ;Ps 78.4

Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise? ;

2. Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,

3. And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:

Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons. ;Ex 2.22
And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. ;

4. And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:

5. And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:

6. And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.

7. And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things. ;Gen 33.4
And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept. ;

8. And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. ;Ps 81.7
Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. ;Ps 106.10
And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. ;Ps 107.2
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; ;

9. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

10. And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
