21. He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.
Prov 10.1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. ;
Prov 19.13A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. ;
Prov 17.25A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him. ;
22. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Prov 12.25Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. ;
Prov 15.13-15A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. ;
Ps 22.15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. ;
23. A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.
Ex 23.8And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. ;
24. Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
Prov 14.6A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. ;
Ecl 2.14The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. ;
Ecl 8.1Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. ;
