21. He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.

A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. ;Prov 17.25
A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him. ;

22. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

23. A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.
Ex 23.8
And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. ;

24. Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. ;Ecl 2.14
The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. ;Ecl 8.1
Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. ;

28. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
