1. What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
Isa 51.2
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. ;Mat 3.9
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. ;Ioan 8.33-39
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? ;2Cor 11.22
Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. ;SMS

2. For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
Rom 3.20-28
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. ;SMS

3. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Gen 15.6
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. ;Gal 3.6
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. ;Iac 2.23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. ;SMS

4. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Rom 11.6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. ;SMS

5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Ios 24.2
And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods. ;SMS

6. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. ;SMS

8. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

9. Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

10. How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
