1. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life. ;Ex 14.25
And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians. ;

2. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
Isa 42.13
The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. ;

3. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

4. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
Ps 35.26
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. ;Ps 40.14-15

5. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
Iov 21.18
They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away. ;Ps 1.4

Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. ;

6. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
Ps 73.18
Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. ;Ier 23.12
Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD. ;

7. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
Ps 9.15
The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. ;

8. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
1Tes 5.3

9. And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. ;

10. All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
Ps 51.8
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. ;Ex 15.11
