1. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
Marc 1.4-15
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. ;Luc 3.2-3
Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. ;Ioan 1.28
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. ;Ios 14.10
And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. ;SMS

2. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Dan 2.44
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. ;Mat 4.17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. ;Mat 10.7
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. ;SMS

3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Isa 40.3
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ;Marc 1.3

4. And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; ;2Imp 1.8
And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite. ;Zah 13.4
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: ;Lev 11.22
Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. ;1Sam 14.25-26

5. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. ;Luc 3.7
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? ;SMS

6. And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Fapt 19.4-18
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. ;SMS

7. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Mat 12.34
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ;Mat 23.33
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? ;Luc 3.7-9
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? ;Rom 5.9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. ;1Tes 1.10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. ;SMS

8. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9. And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Ioan 8.33-39

10. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? ;Ioa 15.6
