1. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
Mat 24.3-36
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? ;Fapt 1.7
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. ;1Tes 4.9
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. ;SMS

2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
Mat 24.43-44
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. ;Mat 25.13
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. ;2Pet 3.10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. ;Apoc 3.3
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. ;Apoc 16.15
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. ;SMS

3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
Isa 13.6-9
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. ;Luc 17.27-29
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. ;Luc 21.34-35
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. ;2Tes 1.9
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; ;Ier 13.21
What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail? ;Osea 13.13
The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children. ;SMS

4. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Rom 13.12-13
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. ;1Ioan 2.8
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. ;SMS

5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Efes 5.8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: ;SMS

6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Mat 25.5
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. ;Mat 24.42
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. ;Mat 25.13
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. ;Rom 13.11-13
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. ;1Pet 5.8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: ;SMS

7. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
Luc 21.34-36
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. ;Rom 13.13
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. ;1Cor 15.34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. ;Efes 5.14
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. ;Fapt 2.15
For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. ;SMS

8. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Isa 59.17
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. ;Efes 6.14-17
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; ;SMS

9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Rom 9.22
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: ;1Tes 1.10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. ;1Pet 2.8
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. ;2Tes 2.13-14
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ;SMS

10. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Rom 14.8-9
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. ;2Cor 5.15
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. ;SMS
