1. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Rom 8.31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? ;1Tim 2.5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; ;Evr 7.25
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. ;Evr 9.24
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: ;
2. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Rom 3.25
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ;2Cor 5.18
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; ;1Ioan 1.7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ;1Ioan 4.10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. ;Ioan 1.29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. ;Ioan 4.42
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. ;Ioan 11.51-52
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; ;1Ioan 4.14
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. ;
3. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Ioan 1.6
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ;1Ioan 4.20
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? ;1Ioan 1.8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ;
5. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Ioan 14.21-23
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ;1Ioan 4.12
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. ;1Ioan 4.13
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. ;
6. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Ioan 15.4-5
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ;Mat 11.29
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. ;Ioan 13.15
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. ;1Pet 2.21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: ;
7. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
1Ioan 3.11
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. ;
8. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
Ioan 13.34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ;Ioan 15.12
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. ;Rom 13.12
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. ;Efes 5.8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: ;1Tes 5.5-8
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ;Ioan 1.9
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. ;Ioan 8.12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. ;Ioan 12.35
Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. ;
9. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
1Cor 13.2
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. ;2Pet 1.9
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ;1Ioan 3.14-15
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. ;
10. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
1Ioan 3.14
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. ;2Pet 1.10
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: ;
